Service Description

6144 - 31 Level 3 City & Guilds Award in Understanding, Planning, Supervising, and Managing Working at Height. This course is designed for existing managers and supervisors and those who are looking after Work at Height activities for the first time. • Valid for: 3 years • Duration: 3 Days. The City and Guilds requirement is for a 2-day attendance course. However, we run the course over 3 days to ensure adequate time is provided to really understand and explore the syllabus. • Assessment type: Practical observation, short answer question paper and two written exams. • Certified by: City and Guilds • Pre-Requisites: A minimum age of 18 years. Course includes: • Working at Height Regulations 2005 • Application of the regulations • Duty holder responsibilities • Hazards and risk assessment process for working at height. • Avoidance, prevention, and mitigation • Mechanical solutions, temporary platforms, permanent solutions • Work Restraint, Work Positioning and Fall Arrest methods. • Planning and documentation • Selecting staff • Training and competence requirements • Selection, use and inspection of working at height equipment. • Monitoring and verification • Rescue planning responsibilities • Common problems • Control of site The course is suitable for managers, planners, and supervisors from all different industries and those involved in specifying, controlling, and approving Work at Height either internally or through a supply chain. While this is predominantly a classroom-based course, we deliver it within our Working at Heights training centre and there will be an opportunity to see different Working at Height equipment, techniques and rescues performed.
