6160-03 City and Guilds Award in Working in High Risk Confined Spaces This course is for those working in a high risk Confined Spaces. The course includes preparing to work safely; entering and exiting high risk Confined Spaces safely; using equipment and tools safely; following procedures and dealing with emergencies. Valid for: 3 years Duration: 3 Days Certified by: City and Guilds Pre-requisites: A minimum age of 16 years. Course includes:  Introduction to Confined Space Legislation, Health and Safety  National Classifications  Personal protective equipment (PPE)  Monitoring equipment  Introduction to personal gas monitors  Commonly monitored gases and associated hazards  Understanding Workplace Exposure limits  Tripod configuration and mechanical hoists  Safe Systems of Work for Horizontal and vertical entry.  Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) – Escape Sets  Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)  Introduction to ventilation systems  Identify unsafe activity when working in Confined Spaces  Causes of Emergencies  Emergency Procedures  Medical considerations  Reporting procedures  Hygiene and decontamination considerations This course is delivered at the company’s location in Plymouth. A mobile training facility can be employed on site for large or prolonged training requirements at company locations. The minimum number required for contract (closed course) is 4 delegates.
