Service Description
This course is aimed at those entering low or medium risk confined spaces in both a vertical and horizontal access. The course covers the relevant legislation, air monitoring and safe systems of work to be able to conduct tasks in this environment. The course includes the introduction and practice of co-worker rescues from confined spaces, using stretchers and hoists to extract casualties. Valid for: 3 years Duration: 12 Hours (2 days) or as an additional 6 hours (1 Day) for those who already hold Safe Working in Confined Spaces (SWCS) – Level 2. Certified by: Rescue 3 Europe Pre-Requisites: A minimum age of 18 years. Course includes: • Introduction to Confined Space Legislation • Personal Safety • Safe Systems of Work for Horizontal and vertical Entry. • Introduction to gas monitors and the atmospheric hazards • Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) – Escape Sets • Introduction to ventilation systems • Knots and terminations • Anchor systems • Tripod configuration and mechanical hoists • Work restraint • Vertical confined space entry and exit • Emergency Procedures • Medical considerations • Use of rescue harnesses and stretchers • Raising and lowering systems, mechanical advantage.
